The final countdown…

OMG it’s actually here. The day has arrived. The day we have been half dreading and half, not looking forward to per say, but intrigued to see how we’re going to be portrayed. sky_uk_living_hd logo

Yes. THE programme we’ve been filming, Hitched, starts TONIGHT. Eeeeeeeeeek!!!

It’s going to be a nightmare. I know it will. I have spent the last 9 months, since filming finished, going over and over everything caught on camera, all the interviews, the comments, the rolling of eyes, the laugher (at points)…. I think i’ve worked out how they’re going to bill us.

I’m going to stick my neck out and see how close I’ll be…

1) We will be the snobby Southerners who think they are better off than they actually are and look down their nose at everybody else.

2) Rob will be the hard working husband who spends all hours day and night working while i sit at home playing PS3

I would like to point out that although i do now work full time for Xcite, when the filming started, I didn’t. I was just doing my freelance writing which meant i had a lot more freedom. Changes were made and since March of last year I have also been slaving away at Xcite day and night. But they didn’t want to cover ‘the change’ as clearly it won’t play into their storyline. Huff.

3) Rob will also be billed as the one that doesn’t want to go out – generally because he’s so tired from working so hard. So when we do go out it’s generally things I’ve planned. Again this will be flipped and I’ll be the selfish wife that drags Rob’s to events he has no interest in when he works SO hard for us both… blah blah. Violins. The works.

This became increasingly obvious with the trips they planned – i mean a Ronan concert? Not to mention meeting the man himself. Oh yeah, Rob would have DEFO been up for that if Sky weren’t around. I think not.

4) All mouth no action – our ‘aim’ for the year and what Sky hoped we would do, was buy our first house. This wasn’t possible during filming and if you’ve read my previous posts you’ll know why. But it is something we had to talk about from Day 1. So 12 months later we’re saying the same thing but haven’t actually done anything about it.

#Losers. At this rate we won’t even get a house in year 2! But we have got a new office. Priorities? Hmm.

I guess in 3 hours or so we’ll find out.

I’m obviously terrified that we’re going to come across really badly. But they do say there is no such thing as bad publicity so maybe I should just grin ‘n’ bear it. It’s the reaction of people I DON’T know that’s got me worried.

I keep having this recurring dream that i go into Starbucks (other good coffee houses are available!), order a latte and the girls says “Oh, you’re that one off that show” and promptly throws the coffee in my face. Hmm. Clearly that’s NOT going to happen (please God!) and let’s be honest, with the viewing figures Sky Living has (a paltry 2.7million) i don’t think we have to worry about being “spotted” but the nightmare is still freaking me out.

I made the mistake of checking out the hashtag #newlyweds (which was the US version) when it aired. I really shouldn’t have. I mean don’t get me wrong, some of the trolling was HILARIOUS…. until you realise you’re soon to be on the receiving end of it yourself. Not quite so funny.

got something to say?
