Married life… and Sky TV

I don’t know where the time has gone this year; the wedding, in some respects, feels like only yesterday and yet at the same time feels like a distant memory, maybe even a dream! But it’s May now, a whole 8 months after the wedding. 8 months!

Not a great deal to report on it has to be said; life has just carried on as normal. We’ve had a few changes work-wise but day-to-day life its pretty much the same. Bet you’re really pleased you bothered to read this now aren’t you? How exciting. Life as a Walker sounds like a right laugh! Ha.

Obviously we’ve had a few things going on and we’ve got some exciting things coming up (Glasto andImage taking joint poll position) but the one thing that has consistently been part of our lives since the wedding day is Monkey Kingdom – the production company filming that show for Sky Living. We see them more-or-less every other weekend and although we went through a few directors at the beginning we’ve had our current team of Jo and Sophia for a few months now and have got to know them really well. It’s great because you almost feel like your mates are coming round for the day…

Don’t get me wrong, there are moments, like when you’re asked to say the same thing for the 15th time, that you feel like telling them where to stick it, but overall it’s been a really good laugh. It’s funny coz a few of our mates have raised concern over Sky’s intentions, or questioned how real our relationships with Jo and Sophia really are and it doesn’t matter what you say, they have their opinions and thats fine. But when you’re spending 10 hours days with these people a few times a month as well as weekly phone calls and emails you do develop a friendship. They probably know us better now than a lot of the aforementioned friends do by now.

….But the proof is in the pudding. We’re not stupid. We know they are making a TV show that ultimately they want people to watch. It’s also a classic reality TV show; the kinda of shows i’m obsessed by so i know what does and doesn’t make for interesting viewing from the consumers end… so yeah, there are going to be moments which make us look really bad and thats fine… as long as there are a couple that also make us look normal. lol. And if they don’t, then so be it. People that dont like us can take great pleasure in slagging us off (let’s face it, it’s not like it’s going to be trending on twitter) and those that do know us, well, KNOW US so will take it all with a pinch of salt. Or tub.

We’ve probably been through every emotion throughout this process so far – we even had our first argument on camera last month. I actually stormed off. Yeah, i know, i know. Can’t do anything about it now. But for every down there’s been an up, if not 2 and i dont regret doing it at all… not right now anyway.

Maybe ask me again after it airs.

got something to say?
