OMG you’ll never guess wha… Actually, stop there for a second. Before we go any further I just want to address my abbreviation bugbear. I want to make it clear that when I write ‘OMG’ I expect you to read ‘Oh my God’, in full, maybe even with a slight hint of excitement mixed with anticipation. I do not expect you to be reading it in its abbreviated state in some TOWIE-type-high-pitched-squeal complete with epileptic-pigeon-like over-exaggerated hand-flapping . My use of ‘OMG’ is simply an indication of just HOW momentous the news is I’m about to bestow (and laziness); not an attempt to be a WAG-like-teenage-Essex wannabe. I digress.

OMG you’ll never guess wha… Fuck it. I’ve spoilt it now. My outburst has somewhat detracted from what was rather good news. Pretend I didn’t say anything….

You’ll never guess what? We’ve only gone and booked our caterers!! (Got there in the end!) I know; grrrrrreat news eh? After the previous nightmare and what with time fast slipping away, to say I was getting rather anxious is an understatement! But it’s all good. Things obviously happen for a reason because our ‘new’ caterers are so much better! They have not only been extremely accommodating with all our request, whilst battling with our budget, but the service so far has been fantastic – which we’re clearly hoping is a reflection of how they will be on the day.

I’m sure you’re all dying to know so… drum roll please… they’re called Absolute Taste. Based in London they provide top class catering around the world. What’s really cool is they are also McLaren’s catering company so spend a lot of the time jetting off around the globe with the F1 team. Our contact, Katie, gets back from Monaco today – at least the food was of podium standard, even if Lewis and Jenson weren’t!

We’ll be booking in our tasting this week which we’re both really looking forward to. As our dear friend Dave (an amazing chef) has kindly offered to do the evening buffet, Absolute Taste will be taking care of the canapés, Wedding Breakfast and supplying all the bar/waiting staff. With a signature cocktail on offer to our guests we’re also looking forward to testing out their bar skills… although cocktail flairing maybe a request too far!

So we may have all the small details to sort out but at least now we know we have the venues and day musicians, everyone will be fed and watered and there will be photography and videography capturing it all… Rob is in final talks with the DJ and lighting company so slowly but surely it’s all coming together. Bloody good job too… come Friday it’s only 3 MONTHS TO GO!!!
