Here’s One I Made Earlier…

I honestly don’t know what happens to ‘time’ as you get older. I sometimes wish my comprehension of time was the same as it was back when I was ten… when days felt like weeks and months felt like years. But it doesn’t and somehow we’re now in April. APRIL. 5 months to go. At least we’ve got around to telling people about it now; invites went out on Thursday. Phew!

What was supposed to be a fairly straight forward task turned into almost a week of cutting, printing, sticking, messing up, re-cutting, more sticking… It was quite simply a nightmare. We (the royal ‘we’; obviously) had decided that the majority of the printing would be done by the printers (makes sense right?) but we then decided the actual text in the day invite would be done by us, we’d layer it on card and stick that in the pre-printed invite. We also had insert cards printed (for hotel info etc) which we then were printing text straight onto.

I had spent what felt like days cutting all the cardboard boarders, printing the wording, cutting the wording, sticking the wording to the card and the card to the invite. But I was making progress. The next stage was the inserts. Both day and evening guests are having them but they are worded differently and contain slightly different info. The evening ones went to plan, no worries. The day inserts however… er, not so great. As the LAST one came out of the printer, the LAST FRICKIN’ ONE, I noticed we were telling people the reception venue is located in Oxfordswhire. What? WHAT! It wouldn’t have been such a disaster if it wasn’t for the fact we had no spares. Waaaaaaaaaaaaa!! There was nothing for it, I was straight on the phone to the printers, Colourzone, who were amazing and said they would print more overnight for collection the following day. Result.

I will upload the designs for you all to see but only once I know that all the guests have received them, including our international invitees. Don’t want to go spoiling it!

The other thing going on at the moment, Dan (Rob’s first ever and long standing employee) has been busy building our RSVP website: www.robandemi.ly which is now up and running! Huge thanks to him as Rob kinda dumped it on him last minute. I love it.

Next big task… Evening entertainment! Can’t have a wedding without tune-age to sing and dance to in our intoxicated state. That would be just wrong!

got something to say?
