The BIG news, as I said last time, is the fact I’ve bought my wedding dress!!! Yes. My actual wedding dress. Fanfare please! Not being a particularly ‘dressy’ person it’s strange to feel so emotional about it, but I do. I love it, absolutely love it.
It will be no surprise to those who have previously endured my blogging that I went back to the first shop I tried, Ivory Boutique in Farnham. (What d’you mean you didn’t read that blog. Tutt. Here!) I went back with the intention of buying the dress I saw on my last visit… which I did try on again… but… as soon as I walked in I noticed one that had somehow passed me by on my last visit. Maybe I wasn’t quite ready to submerge myself in the purchase then. Who knows. Who cares. So I tried on the original and yeah, it’s a beautiful dress and I did still really like it but then I tried on the new one. Ooooooo it was so pwitty. If I’m honest I don’t know if my mum was as impressed with the second one; or whether she looked unsure as a result of changing it up at the last minute when we both thought we had our hearts set on dress one. Don’t get me wrong, she does love it, I just don’t know which she honestly prefers. I did and the purchase was made.
As soon as I saw it on I knew it was THE ONE. Rob might not be, but the dress is.
Joking!
I think it’s possibly the most expensive thing I’ve ever bought… and that includes my car! I also made the rookie mistake
of trying on the dress, and falling in love with it, before knowing the price. Sucked in. I did waiver when Talia revealed the price but then I thought <shrug> fuck it, it’s my day and I’m only going to do this once so why not just go for it? Long story short I paid 50% then and there and decided to worry about the money later. One thing is for sure though, I will not be putting this dress in the attic to simple collect dust, this dress will be worshiped! Forever.
One thing’s for sure though; the budget is now well and truly screwed. Ha! Not quite sure which area we’re going to compromise on yet… I’m buying lottery tickets every week in the hope we won’t have to. A girl’s allowed to dream!
Next up… cutting, sticking, printing and the invitation NIGHTMARE!
