OK, since last my last post I have calmed down. A bit. Things have moved on and I don’t have the time or the energy to cry over spilt milk (or crappy caterers).  So we move on…

The hunt, begrudgingly, had to start again and 2 more caterers were down-selected to obtain quotes from. One is on the PSL for our venue, the other is not… but are a local company. There is no doubt that I want the London based caterers who have previously done events at Aynhoe Park… but like everything price comes into play. We’re in final negotiations with them at the moment and to be honest they have been brilliant at trying to reduce the cost where they can. Rob and I may need to re-think our menu choices to reduce it further but I have everything crossed that we’ll be able to get to a cost we are all happy with. I really want beef though… Is it rude for Bride and Groom to eat something different? Haha.

The other big news is we’ve booked our photographer! Whooooooooop! Mike from Fez Photography is a friend of Amy, my MoH, and he did the photos at her wedding last year. Having seen him in action on the day and then seeing the pics   from Amy and Lee’s do we know we’re in safe hands and are extremely pleased Mike will be there on 1^st September to capture ‘our day’. It’s a big relief though and I’m already excited about seeing the final results. Not that I’m wishing the day away…

Not only that (I know, the progress is quick staggering!) but we have also booked our musicians for the day; All That Jazz. They will they be playing their dulcet jazzy tunes for everyone during cocktail hour up until the wedding breakfast. But that’s not all!! Due to one of our hymns in the actual ceremony being a, shall we say ‘different’ version, they are also accompanying the church service. For that song anyway.  Exciting!!!

Oh my GOD, how could I forget to update you on the BIG news… … I’ve bought my dress… Dah-da-daaaaaa!! Cant possibly skirt over the detail though so will do another blog dedicated to the biggest purchase I’ve ever made.

So that’s kinda where we are. Getting there step by step. There are actually a few more things to update you on (I’m even shocking myself now!) but if I babble on too much I’m sure to bore, so I’ll give you a break and get back to you tomorrow on the rest….
